I am going bonkers! I just am never satisfied until I know I have made it!!!  You may have notice a few changes going on in my sidebar and throughout the website lately.  You are seeing things.  Get it? It was a joke.

All kidding aside, I am coming to the end of September’s theme which is business.  I have not done as much as I would have liked for this website in regard to posting about business. 

I suppose I have done plenty of things in regards to improving my website with traffic flow, features, and such.  The bottom line is this,

What Can I DO For You?

That is what a business is suppose to do, provide you with a service.  I have been comparing my website with other websites, theme-wise, layout-wise, format-wise, etc…

You DO Use It

Having a website is a form of Internet real estate.  It is a matter of maximizing the property.  I am starting to understand why now many websites are utilizing two columns because of valuable real estate, cram more into one space.

Personally, I like having a right sidebar.  It is an old marketing trick, not an Internet marketing trick but one that has been studied since the birth of advertising.

DID Then

Before, I had ads at the end of each post by Google Adsense and they did okay.  I did not generate much revenue there but I did like having them there out of the way while I figured out the rest of my real estate. 

I also had affiliate “banners” in my sidebar from HostICan and Amazon but they were not doing too much for me either.  I was also cluttering my sidebar with polls and links.  It was getting ugly.

I had to simplify my website and simplify it fast!!!

DO Now

I still want my readers to come first so what I did was just sat back and maximized my website to the full screen and looked at it.  I did manage to put up a series of flags above my header allowing my visitors from anywhere in the world to read this website in any language.  I will reveal the results next week in my September summary report but let me tell you it is amazing to see people from all over the world check in here. (I do want to move it below the header for easier visibility but that’s later.)

You DO come first.  I know many of you have been enjoying voting on the polls throughout the website and on the right sidebar.  I am going to start making a better effort to create more interactive polls with better questions and answers. 

However, I have noticed the more visible it is, the more likely you will vote so I decided to place it in the very top space available in my right sidebar.  Just below it is where my subscribers can grab the RSS feed for their email or reader.

This way, no matter which page you go to, BAM! You DO come first!

DO Advertising

I can do advertising on this website for you.  If you have something you are looking to promote, you can do it here.  If you are looking for something to purchase, I can promote it here. 

Whether you like to check out the Google Ads or not, it doesn’t matter to me, it is there to help generate an income stream for my website so the odds are one of you will check out an ad here or there.  I think I just need to find the right ads.  At the least it is not taking up space in my posts itself like so many other websites do with theirs.

However it is difficult to decide whether to have Referral Ads by Google which generate a higher income per follow through or a pay per click ad like Google Adsense.  In the meantime, I am allowed to have both so I will just keep them there.  They are taking up a lot of space though.

DO Shop

Are you one of those people who likes to shop?  DO you like to shop at Amazon?

I DO have my Amazon Associate store set up for your shopping convience.  You can easily shop either by clicking on the Store page, checking out the I recommend widget on my sidebar. 

I think the I recommend widget will be much easier for you to browse through Amazon and make your purchases with.  All purchases made through either location will generate some revenue to support this website with which will come in handy while allowing me to serve you.

DO Appreciate You

That is the other thing I am currently figuring out right now, how to make it easier for you to see yourself on this website with your comments.  I want the world to know what you think.  I want to know what I can DO for you and your thoughts.  This is where I can see the value of a second sidebar but do I want to add a second sidebar to my right or to my left. 

This creates a dilemna for me, should I give up some real estate to provide some appreciation for you, my reader?
