Poll: Alexa Traffic Ranks
I am curious about whether you as a blogger or an advertiser or a marketer care about Alexa’s Traffic Ranks. Basically, it is a useful tool but limited to those who have the Alexa Toolbar installed on their browser. It does serve a purpose for me to learn about my Alexa visitors because the traffic rank is based on three month’s worth of aggregated data. However it is not a great indicator because it doesn’t count for non-Alexa Toolbar users. SO I thought I would throw out a poll to hear from you.
Tell me, why does Alexa Traffic Rank matters to you? (Or why it doesn’t.)

If you depend on link or site selling as a form of monetization you will definitely want to increase your http://www.alexa.com/data/details/main?url=www.fortunehotels.in Alexa rank, because it will increase your bargaining power when it comes to ad pricing.

The way Alexa works is the traffic is measured by the visitors who have the Alexa toolbar installed on their browser. It is by no means a perfect form of measurement, but nearly every traffic monitoring sites out there is not perfect.
By some measures, Alexa ranks do count, by other measures Alexa does not count. It is the same for those who cares about Google’s PageRank and those who do not.
