Reflections from Mark & TheLocoMono
It has been a good week for TheLocoMono Website and its’ sub-domains. Mostly in regards to writing quality content for articles that were either published this week or have been set up to be published in the coming weeks. Several articles or pages have been removed in order to streamline it and re-present it in a more professional manner to reflect the goals for this website.
One thing I realized is to not always listen to the advice of “probloggers” because while their intentions are good, their advices may be helping them more than helping you because you may end up following the herd which can be good or bad for you. For example, posting every day, that ended up hurting me more than helping me. The quality of my posts were starting to falter and that makes the “probloggers” look better.
It is really a simple matter of taking the time to groom your appearance as a blogger.

It’s something that’s been bothering me for a while. If everyone followed the rigmarole, I think the world of blogging would really suffer.
I can already see the effects of this on many magazine covers:
25 ways to…
5 Noes of … etc..
Don’t readers get tired of this kind of title/story?

I don’t think people get tired of the top 10… 5 best… etc. as they are a great way to present information.
Rather than a long text article, Putting things into bullet points or numbers helps to break up the content into smaller chunks making it easier on the readers eyes. Just my two cents!

I have to agree, it is hard to argue with the use of top 5, 10, etc… Although 100 is a bit too long for me.
This is a proven formula, the oldest book in western civilization has a top ten. The Ten Commandments. I don’t know if there is an even older top ten or such like the Rosetta Stone, etc… but it certainly proves something.
