TheLocoMono Is Now A Gatekeeper.

gatekeeper.jpgWhat? What are you talking about? What’s a gatekeeper? Where’s the gate?

I woke up this morning, got my coffee, and sat down in front of my lap top to discover the all-powerful wizards of the SocialBlogroll has informed me that though “our selection process for gatekeepers is a tightly kept secret“, they have chosen TheLocoMono to become a Gatekeeper.

WHOA! COOL! GNARLY! AWESOME!

Thank you, I know, I can hear the praises now (in fact, feel free to leave a comment).

But still, what’s a gatekeeper?

First of all, let me help you keep it simple. A little while ago, I asked whether Should I have a Blogroll or a Sushi Roll? because I was working on maximizing my site’s virtual real estate so that you could enjoy as much as you could without certain things cluttering it up. Personally, when I go to a blog that is literally cluttered with stuff, I “quickly look away like a newborn baby” (Rolling Stones).

Now that I am a little older and wiser, I realize the value of having a blogroll, not only for myself, nor for my readers, but also for those who are on my blogroll. That certainly was a mouthful to type, excuse me while I enjoy a finely made Philadelphia roll.

Simply put, each gatekeeper has a blogroll on their sites. If the site is a WordPress blog, you can find the blogroll at the website address which looks like this,

http://www.your-blog-name.com/wp-links-opml.php

For those of you who needs a little shining light in the dark (replace your-blog-name.com with the actual site name such as thelocomonowebsite.com :) ). What you will see on that address is all the sites on that blogroll. It does not matter whether it is a blog or regular site. As long as the gatekeeper has marked YES for each blog, that particular site will receive a vote.

Simply put,

You will score points the more times we find your site recommended by gatekeepers. You can also score extra points for regularly updating your content. Blogs that do not update within two weeks will loose points.

And simply put,

Also remember that if you loose the support of the gatekeepers and they start removing you from their blogroll, your ranking will decrease. Ultimately, if no gatekeeper is linking to you, your site will disappear from our system. The gatekeepers hold all the power in socialblogroll. Get your social whore hat on and make some friends or start producing consistently great content that people want to link to.

Whoa! Does that mean you, TheLocoMono, is now one of the great powerful wizards of OZ?

No, not OZ, but certainly one of the guardians of the gate to OZ. So that means if you are a blogger and you want to go up in the ranks, my friend, you are encouraged to add me to your blogroll and leave a comment here to let me know that I am your newest, and bestest friend in the whole, wide, blogosphere and I will check your site out.  If I like it, I will add you to my blogroll and then you can go over to SocialBlogroll to claim it.  Give it appropriate tags that will place you in the appropriate category.  It is certainly a way for you to increase your popularity in the blogosphere.

Why TheLocoMono?

That is a secret but I will let you in on something.  SocialBlogroll is trying to expand their categories outside the SEO/SEM (Search Engine Optimization/Search Engine Marketing) and since TheLocoMono Website and its’ sub-domains would be thrilled to see Business, Personal Finance, Real Estate, and Travel included in the categories, I will be guarding the gates to make sure the best ones will pass.
